The Star Tribune reports that federal agents "attempted to order local police from the scene" where a man was shot and killed by feds this morning, but Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara refused and "instructed his officers to preserve the scene."

There has been an increasing sense in Minneapolis that we are on our own, that our elected representatives are unwilling and/or unable to take action to get these murderous Nazi thugs out of our community. I really hope that changes today. The time for pleading TV hits ended weeks ago.

I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.

The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.

gen z gay men love heated rivalry

when it’s pointed out that it was written by a straight white woman for her fantasies and fetishization of us, they refuse to admit it

this is not our story, this show is for the fetishization of gay culture, it has nothing to do with us, stop consuming it

imagine a creepy straight white man wrote stories about his fantasies about lesbians

that’s what this is for gay men; heated rivalry is a straight white woman fetishizing us, with no semblance of our reality or lives, for profit

do not watch and do not support this

I think it’s weird to watch a fascist coup, war crimes, murders, and government attacks on the people all televised - and still no one calls it a war.

We’ve heard that the revolution will not be televised. Maybe this time it’s actually being televised and people just deny it anyway.

I went into the @windycitytimes.com archives and found this powerful 3-part interview with longtime gay activist Rick Garcia, who died earlier this week.

Published in 1997, the interviews capture Garcia speaking candidly about strategy, movement-building, queer Latino identity.

Rick Garcia’s decades shaping LGBTQ+ civil rights in Chicago and Illinois
Rick Garcia, the longtime Chicago gay activist who played a key role in passing Chicago’s Human Rights Ordinance, died Jan. 12 at 69. Garcia was a central figure in Chicago and Illinois LGBTQ+ civil rights advocacy for decades, helping to build the political infrastructure that led to expanding protections against discrimination at the city, county and state levels. He later co-founded the Illinois Federation for Human Rights—now known as Equality Illinois—which became a central force in advancing LGBTQ+ civil rights legislation across the state.
