Sorry but the thoughts and preferences of “software engineers” are vastly overrepresented on the internet, particularly in this debate.
I will happily reconsider this opinion the second most tech companies aren’t run by liars, con men, and snake oil salesmen but unfortunately that’s where we are.

If getting rid of AI means that people who write code for a living have to work a little harder I will take that deal! You do realize most people do other kinds of work right?

I don’t mean to be rude but you’ve just proven my point. You say young people are responsible for trump and aren’t taking anything seriously, and you’re secure so you’re fine just looking out for them. It’s an insincere and condescending attitude that is the norm among older Dems

A whole bunch of young people in 2020 correctly evaluated why nominating Biden was a bad idea and wanted other candidates. They were overruled by the same people that are at No Kings now. Just something to think about!

18-29 year old turnout in the NYC mayor's race is historically high right now by a large margin (pre-election day!) Maybe young people in most places have tuned out because everything sucks and is getting worse and they aren't being offered anything they want?

There has been a disconnect between the political preferences of engaged young and older people for years. I've run into it many times while canvassing. The No Kings rallies by me were headlined by incumbent Congresspeople who the attendees will enthusiastically vote for in primaries. 🤷

The power issue is the big one. A proposed data center near me would consume about twice the residential power requirements of the entire state. This is in an environment where the grid is already not keeping up with demand and rates are going up. And it isn't like they really employ many people
