If the state of Delaware prohibited companies incorporated there from spending on elections in any way, Citizens United would be dead in the water.

Delaware incorporates more companies than any other state.

It’s a blue state. Let’s get cracking on moving Delaware lawmakers on this!

it's so fucking incredible
I never knew that in the United States literally the president can do anything as long as everybody agrees not to stop them. Very weird, realizing the entire thing was made of cotton candy

Oftentimes what is done vis a vis US discourse on I/P is there is the pretense that there's two equal actors with equal responsibilities when in fact there is one state, one regime, one sovereign power which has a singular dominion over all of the territory west of the Jordan River.
There is no Palestinian law because there is no Palestinian state.

the thing about this coverage is that, while it's bad that charlie kirk was murdered, it is good that he's dead. and the number of people who agree with me on that (or disagree, but only with the first half) scares the living shit out of the rest of them
Did...did Disney buy the NYT overnight?

Hm I wonder what this guy’s consulting firm is going to advise democrats to do on the one incredibly visible foreign policy issue that democratic members of congress are on the opposite side of from their base and voters at large right now. I bet it will defy traditional ideological categories!
Second: Supermajority Thinking requires starting from first principles and following them wherever they lead—including when they take us outside of traditional ideological categories.

* bipartisan
* my Republican friends
* real, valid, legitimate, serious, important (to describe issue raised by Republicans)
* yea (when voting on Republican bills)
* distraction (to describe bad thing Republicans did)
* woke (in derogatory sense)

There’s a big team of comms people in this guy’s office cooking this shit up which is kind of darkly funny
Jeffries on Trump planning a military crackdown in Chicago: "We should continue to support local law enforcement and not simply allow Donald Trump to play games with the lives of the American people as part of his effort to manufacture a crisis and create a distraction because he's deeply unpopular"

Centrists bigots and right wingers have this all backward. YOU are the ones constantly bringing up trans issues. I would be happy to not think about this shit every day of my life unless I was talking to or reading something by one of my trans friends and thought of it in passing. SHUT THE FUCK UP

if you can't sell the american public on the idea that federal troops in the streets is fundamentally unacceptable then you have no business being in politics. and if you do not forcibly believe this at your core such that you can't shut up about it, that goes double for you
Toxic feedback loop has kicked in: Trump's propagandists tell credulous reporters that occupying cities is good politics for him. Media echoes this as self-evidently true. That reinforces Dem instincts not to engage.

It seems the pro-Israel consensus among Democrats is well and truly dead at this point. Dem primary voters prefer candidates who refuse to travel to Israel (by net +45%) and back a bill to end military aid to Israel (by net +61%). www.filesforprogress.org/datasets/202...
