AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

YESSS! LETS FUCKING GOOO! SHES FINALLY HERE OH MY GOD YESSSS!

MY BRIDGET PLUSHIE FINALLY ARRIVED.
March 26, 2025 at 2:25 PM
Bridget! (Or brisket, basket, fidget, whatever they are calling her right now)

Her theme is growth, and it was thanks to her that I got introduced to the Guilty Gear series, and fighting games as a whole!

Playing as Bridget and listening to her theme kept me sane in a time in which I was losing it

How bold (or thirsty) of you…

Took a pic of my body (with the Perfect Lighting Conditions, rights reserved) and tried to draw it.

I’m currently in this phase of “Looking good! But no abs” in my gym journey.

Oh yeah, this is supposed to be a bear.

Here’s my original, human portrait:

A portrait of the furry version of me, I’m happy I managed to readjust the hair. I still need to study more on snouts, ears, and casting a human’s face to that of animals.

Overall, this was a fun use of my time.

Artists, feel free to shit on it.

A portrait I made of myself. I’m happy that it is fairly accurate to my face, with more blemishes, of course. I have yet to draw the furry version, which will most likely replace my current profile pic.

I’m eventually gonna need a drawing tablet, but that can wait.

I made this simple walk cycle for deno, probably not gonna use this for my game.

I didn't know what to do for my first animation, until I stumbled upon @doodley.org's video on animating walk cycles.

youtu.be/wgzQ2OmE2Ow?...

Not perfect, but it's a start, thanks Doodley!

Mornin' bsky! Here's an update:

I downloaded the mono version of godot to install this neat add-on called TerraBrush. This adds terrain tools to Godot and is the best one imo.

Thanks to my path system being modular, I can make many different paths for Deno to tread.

Studied up on IK rigs and animation in blender and made this idle animation for deno!

I haven't modeled the guns yet, I'll work on that next. After that, the enemy spawning system.

School's gonna start again, I miss my friends...huh...I've never said that before...

He isn't capable of showing much emotions with his mouth, but the eyes and eyebrows make up for it

Deno's body is now complete! I made him a fully functional skeleton, now I just need to add Inverse kinematics to start animating! I'll also start his guns and knife.

Despite the model being very basic, I'm happy with how it turned out. It feels great to make something!

The Paths are all parented to a PathController node. Which manages how the paths are arranged and keeps track of 'em (A.k.a, a doubly linked list!). The character manages how to attach itself to the paths when PathFollow3D's progress ratio reaches 0 or 1

This concludes today's log, see ya!

This grants the ability to attach paths together like Lego bricks. This makes random generation of paths simple. The paths are all children of the base scene BasePath. It has a PathFollow3D parented to a Path3D. Parenting the character node to the PathFollow3D locks the character on the path.

What better place to start logging the programming of Duster Deno than the path system! The game is at it's core a side-scroller, so I needed a robust, modular system for arranging and attaching paths together. Luckily, that's what a doubly linked node is for!

There are some people out there, right now, who have never had an emotional connection to anyone, not parents, family, or culture. Sad ‘cause they’re lonely, they grew up so, thinking something is wrong with them, why else would nobody come to help? They learn crying is useless, and shames them.

Welp, fixed whatever was wrong with my blender by updating to 4.3.2. I've actually texture painted before, so the color texture getting lost was a good excuse to practice the different brushes offered by blender. I reworked the color palette a bit, he looks more comfortable to look at now.

Deno is coming nicely together now, I've finished modeling, rigging, and have started with texture painting him. He lives in a forest/plains environment, despite being a coyote with colors more matching a desert environment. Game's colors are saturated, and I don't want him blending with the world.
December 27, 2024 at 6:26 AM
Here’s his concept art, his name is Duster Deno. He is my D&D character, but I haven’t played a single game yet, so I decided to use him for my game. I also chose him because he didn’t have very deep lore, perfect for the simple mobile game I’m making right now.

Art is old, please excuse it lol.

My model is coming together great now! I'm very happy with how he's turning out right now, still unfinished. I'm very happy that I kept topology in mind while modeling, it feels amazing spending time admiring it rather than immediately having to fix bad topology
December 23, 2024 at 2:31 AM
Whew, I can rest knowing I’m staying in honor roll.
December 20, 2024 at 6:43 PM
Whoops, forgot to include photos of the topology for those who care. I started out with a subdivided cube, since this is for a mobile game, I'm not keen on making anything hi-res, so this fine, but with a little more tweaking, it can be great!
