I remember people in 2013 bitching about things like "we don't have a term like cinematonarrative dissonance" and thinking, well maybe we... should?

it's like the same period as "we have this culture of 'gamers' and it's silly cause there's no 'moviers'". yeah they're called cinephiles dummy

I really love the municipal golf courses and ranges I've visited here (not a golfer but I like walking around with friends), and have used those as my benchmark for size. I had no clue just how massive these full size private courses were in comparison to what the public is permitted to access.

A good rule of thumb is that every 2 holes of a "full size" golf course (18-hole, par-72) is about as big as Cal Anderson. The whole golf course is usually 9 Cal Andersons in size.

And at Capitol Hill density (which is not very dense! only half the density of U District), each hole of an 18-hole golf course takes up as much area as housing for 1500 people.

I'm sorry I can't come up with a more cogent response to this information than "Ooouuggghhh. :("

wow, seeing it completely encircle Cal Anderson is genuinely nauseating.

this is either incomprehensibly obscure or maddeningly pointed depending on how internet poisoned someone is. it's like a memetic predator drone.
