Creative & Coder. Making a game — Of Salt And Solace
Although this is definitely the trend atm, Clair Obscure and Silksong are good counter points showing other styles of games can also do well so not all hope is lost !

Oh super cool, just the other day I was wondering how I was gonna show input buttons in a string of text for tutorials etc

The friend info and bundles could be hidden away in drop downs imo, would already help a lot with decluttering the UI

Interesting, hadn't come across this personally as I always use uniforms for colours. I do understand the reasoning for it though, it'd be equally weird if the default value wasn't converted.

What I'd do is create a gdshaderinc with a function to define colours like `vec3 grey = srgb(.5)` 🤷

The @noclipvideo.bsky.social documentaries are a great watch and seem really down to earth, though it's usually about smaller studios

Yes mostly alone I have someone helping me for the sound design and music. Level design is probably one of the hardest parts for me as it requires a lot of trial and error whilst I'm still learning

Modified the lighting and layout a bit, already better. For the concave vs convex problem, rim lighting could work though I'll have to see how much it impacts the aesthetics

All very valid points 🙏 I'll see what I can come up with

A lot of works from Simon Stålenhag have been a source of inspiration. The "Tales From The Loop" TV show based of his work also captures the vibe I'm going for.

Great feedback! I get your point, the overcast weather probably isn't helping here, I'll have to play around with the lighting see if it helps. Another solution might be to have an addition "fake" lighting on the rocks by adjusting the brightness based on the normal direction 🤔

I have touch buttons on one that is NOT induction it's borderline dangerous, my cat can accidentally turn them on if he decides to sit on it. I physically cut the power to it when I leave the house in fear of the whole place burning down 🤦
