🇺🇳 UNRWA is still operating across Gaza, providing lifesaving aid despite Israeli efforts to shut it down, the agency said in the Washington Post this weekend. The UN agency with over 12,000 replies in Gaza, remains the backbone humanitarian provider across various sectors in the Strip, including: ➤ Healthcare: UNRWA staff currently deliver around 40% of Gaza’s primary healthcare, treating 10,000–15,000 people every day, with 15.6 million consultations since October 2023. ➤ Water and sanitation: UNRWA engineers continue to keep clean water flowing. In the last two weeks of November, they reported supplying 400,000 displaced people with safe water and clear 300–400 tons of solid waste each week. ➤ Mental health: UNRWA psychosocial teams have provided trauma support to 720,000 displaced people, including 520,000 children. ➤ Education: More than 50,000 children have returned to UNRWA classrooms, while online learning reaches hundreds of thousands more.
