My Lino block print on 8” x 10” Japanese paper shows a blue-black frame with Celtic knot in each corner with the words “The Cailleach” at the top and “Beira Queen of Winter” at the bottom in lettering inspired by Gothic Celtic letters. Inside the frame is my illustration of the Old Hag, the Cailleach marching across the rocky, hilly landscape in a winter storm in two shades of blue. She wears a cloak and great plaid and has her staff in her right hand and her hammer in the left. She has blue skin and copper coloured teeth and grimaces in the wind indicated by swirling lines. There is snow falling and the land behind her is inspired by the Hag’s Head geologic feature named for her. My Lino block print shows a night sky with moon and clouds and flying canoe full of paddling voyageurs over rolling countryside with fields and trees covered in snow and a church steeple in the foreground. The moon is covered with grey craters and shadows. The sky with scattered clouds is in a range of golden-green near the moon to minty bluish-green away from the moon. The foreground, canoe and its occupants are in black. The numbered 11”x14” print is titled “La Chasse-galerie” and signed Ele Willoughby 2024.

Befana, the Italian Christmas witch who visits on Epiphany;
My 8” x 8” linocut print with 4.5” x 6” printed area in dark blue ink shows La Befana, a crone or which standing on an tiled Italian rooftop by a chimney, carrying a large hamper of toys on her back. She’s wearing a dress with patched apron and patchwork shawl and pointed witch hat. She has scraggly hair, wrinkled face and large eyes that look directly at the viewer. The night sky behind includes stars and crescent moon.

Kallikantzaros (or kallikantzaroi plural) is a sort of subterranean goblin or troll who can come above ground during the 12 days of Christmas, or yuletide fortnight, while the sun ceases its forward movement, to cause chaos from the S Europe & Anatolia;

My linocut print of the Christmas goblin of Greek folklore, a Kallikantzaros, is printed on a 8” x 8” sheet of ivory washi paper in burgundy ink, embellished with red bow and red and green holly coloured with Posca pens. The print shows the goblin crouched in a fireplace with rounded top. There’s a pig jaw suspended with a red bow and holly above the fireplace and a log in the fireplace. The Kallikantzaros’ attention is drawn by a colander on the ground. The goblin is furry with goat like hooves, long monkey like arms and donkey ears. Below is the word Kallikantzaros in Greek.

I'm good thanks. Drank LOADS of water beforehand and then had am omelette and a slice of pecan pie straight afterwards 😋 and have been drinking plenty of water since too.
