London born, long term resident in Italy. Was an architect, once, but not in the way you'd think!
Serious interests are many, but often political. Silly interests are cats and Formula 1!
But in defence, you can make one of these spectacular gourmet panettones for a party (in Italy you can cheat by buying a very plain 'savoury' panettone to chop up and fill at home).

It does about ten breakfasts for me!

I'm unhappy about Ferrari's performance, but I think they are getting a bit too much stick considering the positions of Leclerc and Hamilton in this year's drivers' championship ratings.

Poinsettias in pots, preferably with a ribbon, enjoy/suffer the same fate!

She wasn't a blonde, then?

The cow came to no harm! We just gently removed the (fabric based) tape from her mouth and got on with the measurements!

Funny! I recall doing a land survey using a 100m measuring tape, and being thwarted by a cow deciding to swallow quite a few metres of the tape!

That's sad

Suspenders are one of those cross Atlantic confusions!

Yes, stating the very obvious! And also outside large urban areas there are not any cruising taxis, or Uber.
It's extremely annoying to hear metropolitan types berating out of towners for owning cars, as if there is a choice open to them.

I don't think you can have any notion about the effective complete unavailability of any public transport in non metropolitan areas. Nor of the distances which need to be travelled to reach essential services in rural-ish areas.

Kudos for the headline!

It is quite extraordinary how many 'household names' from the political and media spheres have agreed to share their recollections of Ghislaine at Oxford University for this show.

You might also consider washing stuff less frequently. There does seem to me to be a bit of an over obsession with super cleanliness these days.

I remember a childhood phrase "The sun has put the fire out", which arose from my auntie having a coal fire in a room with large south west facing windows, so at around 3pm you couldn't see the flames for the bright sunlight.

Oh for goodness sake - you'll be wanting to reopen the investigation into The Fire next 🙄 #TheArchers

But it always seems Very Unfair that days don't get any warmer after the solstice.

Oh, have I missed a character - who is Connie? (Definitely do not need a full family tree - just a hint!)

Ah now, apparently smoking is still allowed in theatres, so long as it's only the actors indulging!
November 24, 2025 at 9:30 PM
Funny, there has been another smoking related thread on Bluesky this afternoon/evening, where much fun has been had by all.
