Competitive rowing has long been a popular sport in Nova Scotia. And there was no one faster than George Brown, a fisherman from Herring Cove, Nova Scotia. He dominated the sport during the 1860s and 70s.

I remember every year as CBC radio would commemorate the day hearing the voices of elderly survivors who had been children on their way to school. Horrifying.
It’s the anniversary of the 1917 Halifax Explosion. A still and somber morning to visit sites in my neighborhood: a fragment of anchor shank from Mont Blanc, the grave of telegraph operator Vince Coleman, and the field where unidentified dead were buried.

We received a very lovely, generous donation of knitted winter hats so we've made a Winter Warmer Tree to go along with our Winter Coat Rail. 🧶

Anyone needing a cosy hat can take what they need, and if anyone has any spare hats or gloves they can add them to the tree! ❤️

It may be the longest and most expensive media trial in Canadian history

I’m ready to go public about it and I want to share more details with you 🧵
