I’m a HUGE fan of Wicked, so naturally I did a manicure to celebrate it. Last year I wore Holo Taco’s “Emerald City,” so this year I wanted to use the bubbliest, sparkliest pink polish I owned. I settled on Mooncat’s “Blossom’s Firebreath,” a Powerpuff Girls-themed polish. It’s pinku and kawaii.

I am beyond furious at my wife "Cindy" and not sure what to do about it. I'm 37, and we have an 8-year-old son, "Todd." Todd's really gotten into King Arthur stories a lot, so l unpacked something I'd kept in the attic for a while. It's a 1980 copy of "Knights of Camelot," this board game from the now-defunct ISR. You kind of play a knight and run around the King Arthur landscape. The game has rules for generating the sort of encounters questing knights got in those old legends, and you can run around and do stuff. It is designed to be played competitively, but it works very well with solitaire, and so I let Todd play it, as long as he kept everything confined to the large desk he has in his room and kept track of all the pieces. Well, I came home one day to a crying son. And his mother was 100 percent the reason. My wife decided the game was "too violent," gathered it up and threw it in the trash. It's gone. It's out of print too, so I don't know how easily I can replace it. Didn't talk with me about it, didn't talk with our son about it. Just nope, it's got knights fighting each other and "questionable morals," so in the trash it went. She seems to think this is perfectly reasonable, and doesn't understand why I've started sleeping in the guest room. I thought a few days would at least calm me down, but I keep getting angrier and angrier about it the more I think it over. Is there any way to save this? Or to convince Todd that this isn't his fault? -Fuming Dear Fuming, Just to be clear, you are sleeping in the guest room because you are mad about a board game. I get that this is a parenting column, but grow up! What she did was wrong and messed up, but you can also take a step back and consider you might be overreacting. She treated you like a child by throwing something away while you were out of the house, but you should not act like a child by furiously stomping into the guest room with your blanket. You have every right to feel betrayed and unheard. Your wife threw something out without asking you and refuses to respect your feelings about its value. Her behavior is pretty childish, too! Part of growing up is talking about your feelings and respecting the feelings of others. She should have talked with you and Todd about how she felt about the game before throwing it out, and you should talk to her about your feelings of betrayal. Would she feel betrayed if you threw away something of hers while she was out of the house? Would you feel the same way if she had thrown out a different nostalgic possession of yours or was this because you shared it with Todd? Try to get feelings of betrayal. Would she feel betrayed if you threw away something of hers while she was out of the house? Try to get her to think about the larger issue instead of focusing on the game: She threw away not only something you were fond of, but something that was helping you bond with your son. Stewing in your own juices and becoming "angrier and angrier" isn't going to help anyone and sets a bad example for Todd. It should also be easy to convince Todd that this wasn't his fault. You found the game and introduced him to it and then mom found the game objectionable. A disagreement between you and mom is perfectly normal adult behavior. Your anger is also never his fault. You own your emotions, not someone else. Set a good example in front of him by talking about all of this like rational people. You and your wife are clearly not on the same page and it's going to take work to get there. -Greg

AITA for stepping in to help an addict? Throwaway because my friends know my main. Sorry for formatting issues, mobile things. So 1 (19f) live in a flat with 3 roomates. D(20f), S(20f) and D's cousin C(21f). Me, D and S have been friends since HS and I met C a couple of times. We moved a bit before the world went crazy, and everything has been fine up until a few months ago. C has always had some issues, which is fine, but recently I've been getting worried. As far as I know she's unemployed and really hasn't been pulling her weight. I've been ignoring it but the other day I came home and saw that her room was disgusting. I tried to talk to her about it but she was super dismissive saying she was "just tired", I didn't argue but it doesn't make sense because she doesn't do anything besides go on her phone. I left her to it because I'm not big on confrontation, but | was kind of pissed that she would brush me off like that. A few days later I went to go find her and saw a whole stash of pills in her room. She's never hidden the fact that she takes meds but this was disgusting and freaked me out. I talked to D and she said that it was for something C had been told she had in her childhood that she's been having more issues with recently. Thing is C is totally normal and besides the fact that she's taking pills she's totally healthy. I asked D if she knew what she took, she said she didn't but did laugh and say there was a lot. I'm pretty sensitive to this kind of thing, and I started feeling uncomfortable around C. I tried avoiding her but I'm home often and obviously so is she. The other day I had enough when she came into the kitchen and started refilling her case right in front of me. I asked her if she could dial it back as I was getting worried and was getting uncomfortable having drugs around the house. She started getting really defensive saying that she needed them. I just blatantly called her out, stating that she clearly doesn't since she's only slightly older than me and all she does is stay inside. She stormed off to her room and didn't leave for ages. At this point I was sick of her attitude and I needed something to be done, so I took what she had left out and disposed of it as safely as I could. Later D confronted me and asked if I'd taken C's medication (apparently C told her about the fight) and I said yes. She blew up at me saying I had "no right" to take C's stuff but | stood my ground and told her I'm not just going to stand by and let an addict ruin their own life as well as ours. She told me to leave which obviously I said no to since this is my house too, so her and C lett to go stay at a friend's house. AITA? D has been blowing up my phone and hasn't left me alone since. I keep asking them to just come home but D is demanding an apology and won't until I "make things right". S is on my side but says I should just do it so they'll come back but I stand by what I dia. She is starting to get upset though which is making me think maybe I should so that we can at least talk EDIT: No I didn't look at what type of medication it was, I just got it out of there as soon as I could. From what I could see some of the bottles had their labels taken off. And for those who are saying | crossed a line, we are a very open household and I was worried. EDIT #2: l've gotten conformation that most of what I threw out was vitamins and fully funded so there's no point in them calling the cops. You can stop suggesting that now. And stop calling me a child. As stated in the post, I'm clearly not. FINAL EDIT: Thanks a lot to whoever sent them this and gave them the police idea, they're threatening to call them if im not doing literally whatever they say. Guess I'll have to find a way to pack EVERYTHING I own in a week AND find somewhere to sleep. I hope you all have a terrible day and eventually find peace

r/ontario u/Ok_Conflict_6260 • 1h I Regret voting for Doug Ford Discussion So this past Election I voted for Doug Ford, during this timeframe I was Apolitical not understanding how Canadian politics work at the time so this was my first time voting for provincial, I went to voting booth with my maple maga dad and also was stuck in the online alt-right pipeline. Due to lack of knowledge I voted Conservative thinking 1 am voting Trudeau out, it wasn't until I got home and that I realized I voted for the wrong candidate. Since then I have done research at how our politics work I'm not an expert still but I am way more knowledgeable now and will never vote conservative ever again

I wish I’d kept the profile Toronto Animal Services made for Nyxie (then known as “Patty,” which we later realized must have been short for “Chatty Patty”!) but I do have the photo they posted & remember that they described her as having “a meow that will make you go WOW!”
