Some years ago when our family started pretending we didn't exist, my husband and I adopted a tradition of pairing one of the traditional sides with regular dinner each day of the week. Less leftovers, and it de-emphasizes the day itself, but otherwise regular days. It's helped.

Without fail, every single person who says age of consent is too high either has already done something they want to be made retroactively fine, or they have a specific child in mind. Not a doubt in my mind.

My grocery store does a build your own salad bar and while you do slightly overpay by weight by a few cents, you can get a bunch of veg in the exact amount you need. Highly recommend.

I do have a lesser known LotR factoid though. Shelob has a human form that's just a sexy barefoot goth lady, according to Shadow of Mordor--and it's canon, it was in Tolkien's long lost notes that she be barefoot, v. important.

I went from quitting in frustration for two weeks to it being my favorite game of all time. Such an amazing experience.

It's great! Also, pretty sure Nott does a cheeky little Akira slide at one point which is great.

That advice just doesn't work anymore. It's decades out of date, companies and even laws and their policies and responses are desperately out of date, and we need something better.

One of the most vital parts of the article, I think, is highlighting how harassment and trolling has changed. "Just ignore the bully" is fine advice when it was one kid on the playground, one guy in the forum and operators had control over him. Now the bully directs millions, or is the president.

Other things we do that no other species does: live way past our natural lifespans thanks to modern medicine and technology and therefore have to live much, much LONGER with effects of time's slow march on our infinitely deteriorating bodies.

In a sane world we'd have the equivalent to a blue checkmark for every account that's basically just the lying cat from the Saga comics. The complex algorithms which are used to mine our data and sell us shit would be put instead toward determining whether an account is a bot, and making it known.

That said, though, square has like quadrupled down on ai, committing to some utter nonsense like 70% ai workforce or whatever insane thing the suits think on planet lunatic ceo, so--hard to feel invested in 17.

Smash 12 and 13 together, in the sense that it's about a Lightning-like princess running from the call (a lady aragorn, if you will), replace Balthier with an even twinkier femboy, keep the stoic bunny girl sexpot "sidekick," and baby, you got a stew going.

And it's like... Many other RPG's are smoother and quicker to learn, and will do what you want better. Some are so slim you can print at home on half a dozen pages, and they'll still hit the same levels of depth and complexity.
"Try another rpg" is not a pain in the ass just because DnD was.

DnD's greatest strengths (legacy branding, cultural dominance) are its greatest weakness. It's an okay game but people think it's the only one (its brand is synonymous with the hobby itself), whether by broad impression because they don't know any better, or by sunk cost because they're invested.
