I’ve just been outside to put the bins out and found a beautiful common frog behind a bin. Large as life and perfectly healthy. I put her under a bush in the garden. Bit late in the year to see frogs isn’t it?

I’m looking forward to what Emily Maitlis and The News Agents have to say about BBC impartiality or more likely their lack of it. James O’Brien will be limbering up to.

The BBC are reporting on their own demise. I wonder if they will mention this from 2018 whilst they’re at it?

If a prisoner has absconded from an open prison, his absence will be immediately apparent. But if a prisoner has been accidentally and “officially” released, who would know? He’s presumably been signed out by an officer. There must be many more “accidentally released” that we don’t know about.

Can someone please explain why austerity, low morale and sickness levels would prevent a prison governor from implementing a system that ensures 100% that prisoners are not released accidentally. I’m pretty sure my nephew could do it on his laptop and he’s 10!

Over the last 10 yrs, 1430 prisoners have been accidentally released from our prisons. In addition, over the same period, 1307 prisoners held in open prisons simply walked out or never returned after being released on temporary licence. Isn’t that more of a security threat than a few asylum seekers?

@mrjamesob.bsky.social David Shipley is an ex prisoner who regularly appears on TV He mentions corruption at the top and how long term prisoners are sometimes moved to open prisons on “governor orders” and how officers regularly bring in phones and drugs to sell. Accidental release? Hmm!
Get him on.
Get him on.

How easy would it be for a prisoner to bribe a prison officer to release him early? I'm sure it happens. During Covid there were no visits to prisons and yet the use of illicit drug use never went down. It was then suggested that most drugs are bought into prisons by the officers.

Humans evolved from ape like ancestors. We were successful partly because of our altruistic tendencies. There was a benefit to the species if we looked after and protected each other. Now though, all that has changed. Our species has evolved to be selfish and greedy. It might work, it might not!

Have I got this right; There are hundreds of people imprisoned every year who should never be there and there are hundreds of people who should be in prison who are being let out. Am I missing something?

How is it possible for a prisoner to be released by accident? Don’t tell me about job cuts, underfunding, poor morale etc. Hundreds of prisoners have been released early in error every year under all governments. Why?

Anyone could see that David Lammy was being led into a sting set by James Cartilage at PMQs today. It’s now understood that he was aware of the second prisoner who has been accidentally released but Lammy did himself no favours by not stating the position and answering the questions.

Helen Whately never usually has her feet firmly on the ground, but shown here on Politics Live today getting a little help from what appears to be a paving slab! In fairness, that couch looks as uncomfortable as Farage did when Lammy quizzed him on his private income in the house today.

It’s reckoned that 2.4 million US public service workers are not receiving pay due to the govt shutdown, and many are working without pay or have been furloughed, expecting their wages to be backdated. Trump doesn’t want to pay them. It’s getting serious. Hardly a whisper on UK news.

Farage-“Look at all the homeless. The migrants are taking all the houses. If you are so in favour of migration why don’t you take in a migrant?”
To which I said, “If you are so opposed to homelessness, why don’t you take in a homeless person?”

Every news item involving Andrew and his relationship with Virginia Giuffre is usually accompanied with the words, “he has always denied any involvement”. I understand why but it seems to need tweaking. How about, “the lying fucker has always denied any involvement”. That sounds better doesn’t it?

The queue for non Shengen passports at Corfu airport today. An hour and forty-five minutes to get a passport stamped, and they weren't even using the five EES machines! All thanks to that frog faced fuck Farage and his fascist pals dragging Scotland out of the EU.

To all Americans - Donald Trump yearns for a gold-plated throne. He wants to be a king. You have to stop him before he forces you to wear powdered wigs and starts collecting taxes on tea again and that's exactly how we ended up with our Royal Family. You can have Andrew if you want him though.

The purpose of a Selective Licensing Scheme, the thing Rachel Reeves is embroiled in, is to empower local councils to address problems associated with poor property management and housing conditions. It only applies in certain areas of the UK, specifically not the SW, so Prince William is safe.Phew!

Anyone even a tiny bit curious to know who the ex Prime Minister is who allegedly raped and choked Virginia Giuffre?
Spoiler - he’s not British.

Did you know, Andrew was A Royal Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter (KG): The highest honour of knighthood in the British system and a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (GCVO): This is another high-ranking chivalric honour. Chivalric!!!! How? Because of his birth.

Whenever the talk turns to taxing the rich, the Reform or Tory always says that the rich will leave. BBCQT last night. They need reminding that their Brexit caused over 440 firms in the financial sector alone to move to the EU taking up to £1.3 trillion in assets with them, plus the jobs.

I just switched over to catch Panorama and caught the last 30 seconds of Eastenders, a show I haven’t seen in years and never deliberately watch now or would recommend to anyone and of course I was treated to the obligatory punch up just before the credits. Some things never change!
