I miss both the cats I've lost. I miss my parents. I've spent most of this stupid week crying, unable to focus. All I wanna do is draw, because there's a week and half until the convention, but my brain might as well be mush.

We're scheduling a vet visit for after Galaxycon to get Mimi rechecked for kidney failure. After losing Biscuit to it a couple years ago, I've been keeping a sharp eye out for any changes and she's starting to lose weight. Granted, she is 16 and all her tests came back great earlier in the year.

Sometimes all you want is the texture only a small bag of crunchy chips sandwiched between slices of bread can give. Anything else would be an additional, unwanted texture.

Also, I kept smelling something that reminded me of my dad's old blanket while driving today and it turned out to be a cologne my sister gave me yesterday.

One day I'm gonna make a small batch of my dream potato salad using exclusively Kewpie mayo and grillo pickles. I fear I'd be unable to eat it any other way though.

Mimi handled the bath and blowdry a lot better this time around. I put a big beach towel in the tub so she wouldn't wobble as much. And she realized halfway into the dry that she could crawl into my lap and get pets. I don't think she'd let me get away with any of this if she wasn't dead though.

Columbus spent two years upgrading the road and sidewalks where I live. Only to immediately rip those sidewalks up to replace the sewer lines. And then destroyed the road expanding the sidewalks. Now they're fucking up the sidewalks to fix the road. Like, is this a money thing? It has to be.

I have to get my sister to watch my senior cat while I'm away because she's being picky about food again but mostly just because her health isn't great right now :c There's not really much that can be done, she's just really really old.
