The cost of this and other encampment evictions would be better invested in proactive solutions such as the building of supportive housing units.

due to a police investigation and environmental concerns. These residents have been displaced twice now without any offered permanent housing or shelter accommodations that meet their unique needs.
There was a heavy police presence on site today, along with multiple contractors.

The length of those vouchers was not made clear, and all the offers were only temporary options. None that we spoke with had been offered housing.
Some of the residents being displaced today were residents of the Flat Rock encampment, which was cleared less than a month ago

Of the residents we spoke to on site none had been offered housing, the best that was being offered was a shelter bed, some as far away as Collingwood and Wasaga Beach and some had been offered temporary motel vouchers.

Forced treatment doesn't work! It never has and it causes harm. And how can we even be talking about involuntary treatment while people wanting help are dying while on waiting lists?
