There has been an increasing sense in Minneapolis that we are on our own, that our elected representatives are unwilling and/or unable to take action to get these murderous Nazi thugs out of our community. I really hope that changes today. The time for pleading TV hits ended weeks ago.

When driving back home from Arizona a few weeks ago, my daughter had to drive through a Border Patrol checkpoint. Because of the Minnesota (and elsewhere) bullshit, the very idea of it scared the shit out of me. Thankfully, they didn't feel like terrorizing her that day.

It's kind of amazing, given the views of several in that town, that my hometown opened a public pool in 1974. Of course, the town was pretty segregated still then... and still is.

It seems like such an own goal to try to convince people bad things are not bad (especially knowing one of the reasons you're even in the position is due to it not working for someone else) when you could just say that you're working on it and that it's a more intractable problem than we thought.
