A movie that takes place where you’re from.

1973's The Friends of Eddie Coyle. Pretty much all footage not in Boston proper was shot in Dedham, MA, first suburb south of the city. Film opens in Dedham Square where I was an ice cream maker. Dad says his trash barrel can be spotted.

#NowReading Ryan H Walsh, "Astral Weeks: A Secret History of 1968." Walsh goes way beyond that album and even Van Morrison himself to chronicle the bizarre music scene around Boston in the late '60s (some of it involving a hippie cult). Obsessively researched and thrill-packed, a real page-turner.

It’s hilarious and revelatory that a bunch of giant MAGA/America First X accounts are actually based in Eastern Europe and Nigeria.

For a song where the singer repeatedly declares “Well, let me tell you 'bout the way she looked / The way she acts and the color of her hair” we sure don’t ever learn the color of her hair.

Can Mamdani just visit him every week and Zohran-pill him into being a reasonable person (until we get rid of him forever)? This is unreal. Trump is flat out middle-school crushing on NYC's new mayor.
Trump is now defending Mamdani in response to loaded questions from Fox News. incredible scenes

A Trump supporter started murdering his way through an assassination list of Democratic law makers FIVE MONTHS AGO. He murdered my colleague Melissa Hortman, and her husband Mark — and attempted to assassinate my dear friend John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. I was also on the hit list. WTF

Why am I so against generative AI in games?

Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

20 yrs ago I started a new band. We had rehearsed all fall & played our debut show at Great Scott, Allston, MA on 11/15/05. I hoped we'd play a few shows, maybe record an EP. 2 decades, 5 drummers, and 11 albums later, here we still is.
