I always wonder whether he was like this before the stroke and just hiding it or whether the stroke permanently impaired his cognitive abilities.

My process is similar. I write at least 600 words every day but sometimes write a lot more. It adds up over time.

I've found a great little lifehack for that, especially with gaming. If it's a story-based game, especially one set in a fantasy world like my own work, I consider it inspiration, and then I feel like gaming time is both fun and productive.

Every once in a while, Rand Paul remembers his libertarian roots.

In previous years, I was much more of a sprinter, writing 40,000 words some weeks and then 0 words for months at a time.

Now I'm closing in on 400k for the year, and it never felt overwhelming on any given day.

I think this scenario is applicable not just to physical activities but to life in general. Slow and steady often wins the race.

I've applied this to my writing by requiring just 600 words a day. Many days, I write more, but I always hit 600. It keeps me in the habit without exhausting me.

That's why I just try to think in terms of "Is this awesome?"

If it's awesome enough, I'll figure out a way to make it work.

At this point, I just don't know how to have more than a working relationship with anybody who thinks this shit is okay or funny or anything like that.

I do something similar. When I don't want to interrupt my flow, I use brackets for what I can't remember.

Yeah, that hurts.

Maybe I should download this one so I can play it while I'm traveling next week.

Smart people read dystopian science fiction and see it as a warning. Dumb people read dystopian science fiction and see it as a guidebook.

I like to play story focused games when I'm not in the mood to read.

Gen X and younger Boomers are the only generations where the majority voted for the orange felon. So, yeah, not the greatest...

I would rather have no audio book than one narrated by AI. I would rather record my own audio book, and I hate the sound of my voice on recordings.

This phenomenon is mostly bullies getting angry that they can't have unrestricted access to the people they are bullying.

I loved that part of the game, especially how the normal music just kept playing in battles. It really set the mood so effectively.

Just make sure you kill her first try so you don't have to rewatch the unskippable cutscene.

Somehow, I went into Yunalesca blind on my first try and beat her. I don't know how I managed that.

Seymour on Mt. Gagazet was the worst, though.
