God gave me a mouth and a brain and I use them, with sporadically entertaining results. Dachshundist. Bonne vivante. Lee Hazlewood Addict. Portland/Beaverton.
No it won’t. It will drive more people to podcasts.

Most business books are dreck and few women writers, esp if you don’t count “How To Woman In Business” books. There’s gotta be MBA school case studies on scaling early stage companies. Interviews with people like Sara Blakey might be relevant.

Never heard of this JS guy whom all the brouhaha is about before Bluesky. Totally willing to believe he’s spreading hate. Why is it not enough to block him and trust that most others who see hate from him will block him and he’ll get bored and leave? Like other trolls? Why is a mod needed?

Folks before dunking on every person employed by UHC please remember many — my quick medium-informed guess is over half — are frontline workers in the contact center listening to people yelling all day or processors making hourly wage. These are basically assembly-line jobs in the service economy.

In my time and place class and culture divisions were wild. Wouldn’t surprise me if no one on westside had to recite pledge but across the river everyone else did. State flag though, I never heard of pledge to that even at Outdoor School the great equalizer,

I went to public school in Tigard 3rd - 4th grade 1970s then Portland through 8th. Certainly no pledge to state flag! Maybe a thing in other parts of state. No pledge to anything at other schools.

This could all turn out to be a panicky overdo, but Occam’s Razor supports it.

I really hope you’re right and it’s more like when the Wall fell than when the Cubs finally won the World Series and we danced in the street banging pots and pans because anything was possible, a woman president, healthcare for all, anything. Early November 2016

Coleridge’s carping about Othello the Moor being a Black guy hangs like an albatross around the neck of his legacy.

Where does Long Black Veil go? It’s like Lily Of The West except if the narrator wasn’t the real killer.

The folk hero is a huge component of America’s internal narrative and its mythology. It’s shocking to me that we haven’t gotten to this point previously, but if people feel the rule of law no longer applies because of the incoming president and what they see as rampant corruption this may be the norm
