I added a new feature this week - the egg queue. It shows which eggs you're currently hatching, and the parents of each egg, if applicable. I capped it at 10 for now, but I might expand it if people want to see further ahead.

Been making great progress in the past week, but not much that shows in screenshots. I did finish an unlockable background selector, though. There will be real background images in the final version, but I did a color swap for now.

I'm finally getting underway with visible changes. The new screens aren't much to look at, but they are functional!

Well, sort of. The prestige menu does let you spend perk points, but the perks aren't implemented yet.

This time, I think I'll show off some of the new icons I made, and the palette swap shader I wrote.

Honestly, I think I should use a shader for the other color changes in the game. It's easier to do than I thought.

This week for #ScreenshotSaturday - Achievements are coming to the build next patch!

All achievements currently added are implemented. There are more on the way, and some are impossible to get right now. But, the code is there for them.

Bonus #ScreenshotSaturday post, I also made some changes to the side menu.

I added a "buy multiple" feature for incubators. When I did, I decided to clean up the breeding menu UI so that the button was more consistent with the other menus.

I'm actually ahead of schedule this month. But for now, I'll just show off the stats screen. It will have more added to it, but this is probably the version that will show up in the next patch.

I really locked in on a new feature this week. There's a fully functional Morph Viewer, coming next patch. Now you can see what they look like after you discover them.

Not really a screenshot, as it's not in the game yet, but I'd say it counts. I finished a species that will be added to the game in the next round of new species. No preview on the colors because I haven't picked any out yet.

Huh. I managed to participate in #ScreenshotSaturday twice in a row. It's been a little while since that's happened.

This week, I did a small visual update to the morph selector in preparation for adding the collection menu in a later patch.

This week I'm fine-tuning a new feature - temporary bonuses. While I can't show the effects in still images, I can show off the new icons.

I also updated the filter menu's art assets.

Looks like I am a little behind on assets. We'll have to skip one species in the progression, but I'm sure I'll get it done eventually.

I may also do something with that third pattern.

Stripes aren't as easy as I thought they'd be.

I talked some time ago about my non-game related influences on my work. I think I forgot an obvious one for my first project - and that's my own exotic pet.

I kind of want Idle Exotics to be a bit of a love letter to the reptile keeping hobby, as well as being an idle game.

Well, the game challenge is over. But I did tease that I might put some of my other influences out there, that won't be video game-related.

The first is the Pacific Rim series! Yes, they did more than just 1 movie! I'm working on reading the comics when I have some free time.
