Friend of bats. Occasional scribbler. Cranky crip.
Well, yesterday was a day. Doctor, ED for more than five hours and finally hit by pizza delivery guy when driving home.

It's a real pity the US doesn't have a system which would force Trump and his merry band to sit in Reps.

Lorikeets and noisy miners arguing over tree next door. Quite a racket.

Just back from the Northern Beaches. My God, Pittwater Road is dire, but they must like it that way considering how they object to any real public transport infrastructure.

" It was a pig walking on his hind legs.

"Yes, it was Squealer. A little awkwardly, as though not quite used to supporting his considerable bulk in that position, but with perfect balance."

Was in Kmart the other day and was pleased to realise that while CDs and DVDs had come and gone from the shelves, books endure.
Not that I have anything against CDs and DVDs, I get physical media when possible, but there has never been a mass-market alternative to books. Ideal form + function.

Went for a wander by the beach and amazed by how many people don't do the sun safe thing. Sunscreen doesn't make you impervious to the sun.

Of course it's jobs for the mates. Both sides do it, but it doesn't make it right.
We spend tens of thousands training diplomats but send ex-politicians who are at a loose end.
If they have a buring desire to join the diplomatic corps, send them to a challenging post like Nepal.

PM says pick is 'an entirely appropriate appointment.'

OFFS can we not do this. Analysis paralysis. If IA existed in the early 20th century we'd still have vehicular ferries across the Harbour and a tram shed on Bennelong Point.

Late to the party, but have started watching The Crown. A good show but everyone (with the possible exception of the Queen and Magaret) is ghastly. Even the old Nazi King Edward does fare to badly by comparison.
