OH! I also just remembered the spiritbirds being a problem. cute way to get you to explore the map, but a real pain in the ass after like the 4th-5th time you visit there.

we just picked up gu again and we're almost done with it, so we'll probably start world next year. It might be bias from the demo, but I imagine we won't be able to tank wilds. might just skip it if whatever the portable team is cooking comes out before we get to it

I forgot completely about the new riding minigame. I never needed to use dung bombs because of that.

I wasn't really bothered by the cooldowns, but we'll see when I replay it in like a year or two. (it did totally ruin hammer for me in other games, because I liked the skills for it so much)

they also overcompensated for wirebugs by making the monsters more aggressive and giving their moves ridiculous hitboxes. like magnamalo has this charge/dash attack, and I'd be like, 2-3 times his height above him and still get hit. it drove me fucking crazy.

what's been your problems with it?

😔 I really liked it, but I got issues with it. the rampages are complete dogshit. I'm mixed on the palamutes, like I think they kinda mess up the pacing of running across the map when a monster flees, but also I like having a dog oomfie.

there's never any reset to zero. everything you do in a level effects everything else. exploration, resources and combat are all one. opposed to in a modern doom game where the dynamic ammo system means you reset to zero and do a full execution of the gameplay loop several times per encounter
