Unpopular Opinion:

The #ChristmasTree should be phased out

We don't Need to cut down trees and plastic trees are also bad for its end of life impacts. We don't need to continue this tradition. The only exception being a potted tree that can be replanted and continue its life.

There is no room for excuses anymore, the Trump Regime is clear about taking over the Western Hemisphere, including taking over Canada's resources.
This should be BREAKING NEWS across Canadian news media, but I haven’t seen it reported with any urgency. Last week, US President Donald Trump dropped a 33-page manifesto stating the White House’s strategic plan to take complete economic control of and dominate the western hemisphere... WATCH #news

Canada is uniting with the EU on defense procurement
In a dangerous and divided world, Canada and Europe are elevating our defence partnership.

That means more access to new equipment for our Armed Forces, more investment in Canada, and massive opportunities for Canadian workers and businesses.

Finally got around to making these mushroom treats! Now that I know how to make them they will be added to next year's halloween handouts that already include "Breaded Leaves" and "Chocolate Acorns". All looking realistic and have been asked by multiple people if they were actual leaves and acorns 😁

"The wide availability of redistricting data and mapping software has transformed mapmaking ...[into an] activity that anyone can participate in."

“Now, nearly 300,000 Alabamians will be voting under new district lines that I drew up at two in the morning in a dorm, a cramped dorm study room.”
A teenager redrew the Alabama voting map – and it’s now state law
Daniel DiDonato, 18, drafted new state senate districts at home on free software – and a judge picked his map ahead of professionals’ efforts to remedy voting rights violations

8000 years ago in the remote, boreal landscape of the Siberian taiga, hunter-gatherers built the earliest fortified sites. The development of territoriality and social conflict was not necessarily tied to agriculture.

Only cowards fear the truth, don't be snowflakes USA.
I spent October traveling to schools throughout the South talking to students about American history. What I found were young people who understand we can tell a story that includes both the positive and the negative. As one 8th grader in Memphis said, “Doesn’t seem that hard, just say both things.”
Tell Students the Truth About American History
We owe it to Americans of all ages to be honest about the country’s past, including its contradictions.

Rewriting the history of the Eurasian Steppe to include Bronze Age urban development
Archaeologists have unearthed a Bronze Age metropolis in the heart of the Eurasian steppe: an early form of city as complex as those of contemporary, more traditionally 'urban' civilisations, showing how steppe polities were just as sophisticated.
