Thinking about my dog Ihi flying as an emotional support dog. He wasn't very good at it. I mean, he did bite a federal agent at the airport, which was pretty supportive, but that got us kicked off the plane, which was less than ideal from an emotional support perspective. 💖

Police have access to massive surveillance networks that track the public whether they are suspects or not. That means probably for every 1 officer caught using the system to harass or spy on people they have feuds with, ex's, activists, journalists, there are probably 100 more we don't know about.

WHOA. The FBI was/is spying on a Signal chat for a New York immigration court watch group, claiming they were “anarchist violent extremist actors.”

Your reminder that the government is watching and don’t say anything in a big group chat you wouldn’t say on TV.

Another important FOIA release made possible by @propertyofthepeople.org @rshapiro.bsky.social

And @sreynolds.bsky.social is spot on: COINTELPRO redux
The FBI infiltrated an encrypted chat of immigration court watchers in New York. Then it issued intelligence calling them violent extremists—terrorists.

As I told @theguardian.com, this targeting of people who show up for immigrants is straight COINTELPRO:

Great article that's not paywalled because of @wired.com's commitment to making FOIA-based reporting free (and great work by @propertyofthepeople.org).
New: The FBI is quietly urging ICE agents to properly ID themselves in the field.

In a bulletin to law enforcement last month, it warned of criminals posing as ICE to rob, rape, kidnap—a problem it says now demands national coordination to confront.
