On a personal note to self to make that drop in the ocean:
Support small and indie businesses.
Stop feeding the machine as much as I can (health, finances, and location allowing)
Supporting community programs to encourage local, ethical businesses and non-corp representatives.
How we beat back the corporate takeover of America:

1. Break up corporate monopolies

2. Continue building union power

3. End Citizens United and get big money out of politics

Let’s keep working to unrig the system.

If you’re wondering why there’s a lull in the Epstein files discussion, it’s because the law that just passed gave Pamela Jo 30 days to release the files. So we’re all waiting to see how she tries to sabotage it. The discussion will pick back up in earnest on December 20th.

The stock market's gains are being overwhelmingly driven by seven Big Tech companies who have invested heavily in AI, which has made tech oligarchs even wealthier.

But when that AI bubble bursts, the rest of us will be stuck holding the bag.

Be warned.

My daughter and I visited the house we lived in when she was a baby, and she was shocked a 29-year-old Navy guy could afford a nice house in a safe neighborhood.

That wasn’t crazy in 1996 — but today, a nice house is out of reach for so many young people. That has to change.

L.A. TACO is my go to for keeping up-to-date what is happening in L.A. and surrounding communities daily with ICE and those working with them.
Constitutional right violations, 4th amendment violations, communities affected, number of people taken, etc.
Incredibly important work and reporting.

Trump judges to rule presidents can ban reporters for disagreeing with them viewpoint discrimination as official policy. Judge asked if White House could bar citizens from tours based on politics; DOJ said yes. First Amendment dies at the Oval Office door if courts allow this. Press freedom, gone.

If you're ever wondered why journalists seem so out of touch most of the time it's because in order to establish yourself you need to either come from money, marry into money, or be OK with abject poverty and daily financial panic

That third thing is unsustainable long-term

This is one of those things that rarely gets talked about that has had a massive effect.

As fields like journalism, art, and academia were collapsed and living expenses skyrocketed they came to skew increasingly toward people whose families could afford to supplement their income.

BREAKING: new emails CONFIRM my reporting that there are TRAINING VIDEOS instructing FBI personnel on how to review the Epstein Files. Plus, a lot more…
The emails reveal the special training given to FBI personnel working on what it called the “Epstein Transparency Project.” In some instances they referred to it as the “Special Redaction Project.” The training entailed PowerPoint slide presentations and video instruction on how to review the files.

The EPA is starting to allow the use of pesticides containing PFAS on food.

The move is part of an effort to roll back the regulation of what are called "forever chemicals" because they don't break down easily in the environment.

We have many night time ritual options, one of them is our oldest will tell our youngest her 'podcast.' She'll give him a list of subjects she's learned something about, he'll make a selection, and she will tell him all she knows about it. It's brilliant, 🤩. Tonight's selection was the food cycle.

Five years ago, we all applauded nurses, public health, and health care workers every evening for saving lives.

Today, the federal government does not consider these workers professional.

This says everything about the state of US health care.

The bill last numbered H.R. 9495 would empower the Treasury Secretary to designate any nonprofit the Secretary wishes to kill a “terrorist supporting organization” and revoke the tax-exempt status on which it depends for survival. Unconstitutional but lethal in the harm it would do while in force.
