While there is "some joy" in knowing that bombs have stopped falling on Gaza, Israeli historian Ilan Pappé warns that many Israeli leaders remain committed to using violence in order to "wipe out Palestine as a nation, as a people and as a country."

Ilan Pappé's new book is "Israel on the Brink."

“To call what Israel is doing in Gaza genocide is simply to speak the truth. Efforts to say otherwise deny the reality of what everyone can plainly see. To compare the current Israeli government to the Nazis is not antisemitism, as it might perhaps once have been, but bitter justice.” - Kevin Power

A government or a party that has no measure of accountability for failure is not a functional one. In a functional administration, all of these people would be blacklisted for the rest of their careers at the very least, not angling for new jobs.

Yes, the war in Gaza is a genocide.

I hope you’ll take a moment to read my op-ed here:

Hamas, a terrorist organization, began this war with its brutal attack on October 7, 2023, which killed 1,200 innocent people and took 250 hostages. Israel, as any other country, had a right to defend...

On our trip to the Middle East, @merkley.senate.gov and I saw and heard firsthand how the Netanyahu government is engaged in a brutal campaign of ethnic cleansing in Gaza and America is complicit.

What is happening in Gaza is genocide.

Those enabling it—lawmakers sending arms to Israel, officials giving it cover at the UN and international courts, the lobby groups demanding such support—aren’t just accomplices, but full participants in a crime against humanity.

They must be held to account.

Prof. W. Schabas, a leading authority on genocide whose family survived the Holocaust, believes the case against Israel is “arguably the strongest case of genocide ever brought before the Court" and that the US & Germany risk legal liability.

18,500 children have been killed by the Israeli military in Gaza.

Despite these war crimes, the US has provided more than $22 BILLION for the war.

Our taxpayer dollars are being used to starve children, bomb schools & gun down hungry people as they wait for aid.
