I can only answer for myself, but secondhand shops often fill a community niche for literature and reading joy and I’m totally cool having only made my money once on the books they resell.
And library copies (physical or digital) are paid so authors get some money from those!

It's interesting how easily a lot of ppl say oh it's over, it's inevitable just use it.
Most Artists I know aren't like that. From day one. They are built different. They are resistant to conformity. You're not going to tell them what to do or say.

It ended up cheaper than Joanne’s but it does come at the cost of storage space 😂

It’s frustrating! I started buying basics (elastic in various sizes, hooks and eyes, snaps, invisible zippers in black and white, thread in my most used colors, etc) in bulk during the height of the pandemic years and I’m glad I stumbled into that strategy.

Shoot, this is just smart planning! (Honestly I’ve come to believe that when you find a style or brand you love, stock up, because that’s like gold. No other pressures or rationales needed.)
