Democratic Socialist. Antifascist. Waiter.
That was fast. He only stopped talking two hours ago. So they came up with an agreement in two hours and the tariffs are canceled. Does anyone believe any of this?

NATO told him to get fucked on Greenland. Now he’s going to try to sell putting the Golden Dome (which we were already going to do) in Greenland as a win.

I love Timothy Busfield, through his work on Thirtysomething and The West Wing. He was a solid "everyman" character. He was lovable, even when he was repossesing homes in Field of Dreams. I loved his work.

If he's guilty of child molestation, lock him up and throw away the key.
Timothy Busfield will appear in court for a hearing to determine whether he will remain in a New Mexico jail or be released pending trial on child sex abuse charges.

Ugh! Where do the Democrats hire a million people? On Indeed? Craigslist? What is the going rate? Do I have to fill out an I-9 form? Do the send me a W2 form?

Where is the proof? Surely, hiring a million people would leave evidence. Show it or shut up.
Trump: "All I have to do is what the Democrats do all the time. They hire a million people and then they hire another million and they load it up and it says, 'Oh, they only have a 3% unemployment rate.' It's a fake rate. With us, we're proud of the fact that we cut so many."

NATO already came to our aid in Iraq and Afghanistan after 9/11, you weaponized sweet potato!

All European countries should demand the removal of US bases inside their territory. The US is the enemy, now.

That may trigger impeachment or the 25th amendment.
Trump: "The big fear I have with NATO is we spend tremendous amounts of money with NATO and I know we'll come to their rescue, but I just really do question whether or not they'll come to ours. Just saying."
January 20, 2026 at 10:50 PM
At what point does a European country demand the US remove its bases from their soil? After all, you cannot allow an aggressor state to have military bases on your soil. This, more than anything, would cause chaos in the US government and force action in the Senate.
Trump's message - and general worldview - betray "a profound misunderstanding of how both alliances and the American military function—and how they should." lnk.thebulwark.com/4qZSTaF

Please explain to me how diverting water into an ocean would protect a fish. The ocean is already filled with water. How does diverting more water protect a little fish? Does he not know how oceans or fish work?
Trump: "They didn't allow the water to come down from the Pacific Northwest. They routed the water into the Pacific Ocean. So we had no water there. No, he had -- I would say open up the water. Open it up to the governor, the mayor. They wouldn't do it. They wanted to protect a tiny little fish."

Did he ask Trump this question? Why does he think the majority of Americans want the release of the Epstein files?!

We can always seize their assets....
trump destroys the world but the deeper crime is this:

When he is gone, his children & his cronies will leave with $ millions.

and we are left to clean up the wreckage while history books will be written asking "who saw this and stayed silent?"

My tombstone will read: We Tried to Warn You.

"Big, strong leaders, I can't tell you who, tears in their eyes, hugged me and said 'sir, that was very impressive. How do you violate international law so well?'"
Trump on his Venezuela coup: "I was called by the leaders of numerous countries. I won't go into which ones, but the biggest and the strongest, and they said, 'That was very impressive.' They're all impressed."

One day there will be trials. Like the ones we had in Nuremberg. The way Israel hunted down every SS officer and concentration camp guard, we'll prosecute every ICE agent.

That is, if we don't get a bunch of mewling foot-draggers like Merrick Garland in charge.

You have to build housing. Build sewage treatment and water supplies. Provide generators. Transport fuel and food. Get rid of garbage. Medical facilities. Entertainment facilities. Think a base in Antarctica or an oil rig in the north Atlantic. And then pay the workers a buttload of money to work.

Why Fascists Always Come for the Socialists First
Contrary to right-wing myths that the "Nazis were socialist," fascists despise socialism and want to destroy it. Here's why the left poses such a threat to them.

I don't understand why governors can't mobilize their national guards to force ICE out of their states.
When are we going to stand as a nation and oppose these monsters?

1) the US has swapped out the Maduro regime for the Rodriguez regime. She is president. Her brother controls the legislature.
2) They think Rodriquez will let the US plunder her country.
3) The US oil companies really don't want to spend billions of dollars for 10 years when oil is $60/barrel.
Donald Trump's decision to remove Maduro without a clear plan for democratic transition leaves Venezuela at risk, raises questions about America’s credibility, and escalates international tensions. And we should all be paying attention.

This is absolutely disgusting. But not surprising.
What a brazen betrayal of the law enforcement officers who were attacked and injured by insurrectionists on January 6th.

I remember running into an officer washing his eyes out because he had been pepper-sprayed by the rioters Trump has now pardoned.

The President has no shame.⁩

For the idiots in the GOP who support Trump's invasion of Venezuela:

The reasons Congress is invested with the power to declare war:

-- the citizens have to fight the war;
-- the citizens have to pay for the war.

Military action without the consent of the governed is illegal and immoral.

Who, exactly, is going to run it? Are we appointing a viceroy to rule? That person will have to be protected by the army. Are we going to install a local puppet? That person will have to be protected, too. And what about the ministries that refuse to comply? We taking those over?
Trump: "We're going to stay [in Venezuela] until such time as the proper transition can take place…We're going to run it, essentially, until such time."

Mamdani makes me think of FDR, when he set out to create excellence in government and provide solutions for all. The Democrats abandoned this vision of government as excellence under Clinton and Obama, and embraced the Reagan formulation that government was the enemy.
Reflecting on Zohran Mamdani’s inauguration speech yesterday, Corey Robin argues that the Left must now embrace excellence rather than ceding it to the Right, fighting for the flourishing of all people as the aspiration of a truly democratic society.

When I think of regime change, I don't think Afghanistan or Iraq. I think Japan and Vietnam.

Japan was successful because MacArthur forced an American-style constitution on them, and we stayed for decades.

Vietnam was a failure after we assassinated Diem but had no plan to replace him.
One reason regime change is so easily discussed is that it is so rarely defined. lnk.thebulwark.com/4beO4pi
