Social platforms lack downregulation. Disagreement is often expressed through quote posts, amplifying what users oppose. We’re testing new signals, eg like/dislike ratios, to see if there’s an effect on the healthiness of conversations online. Stay tuned
dislikes will be private and no counts will be displayed. it's mainly a useful signal to help tune your own recommendations, and may have a light effect on recs that similar people receive

when something’s happening i want to be in the room, in the comments. sometimes the replies are better than the feed. when i’m at an event i want a feed with everyone there for the takes and the tea. testing this with starter packs—reply where you’d want to try it and i’ll dm you.

AI search is 5.6% of search traffic rn and has grown 126% yoy. 98% of chatGPT users still use google. They just route by query type now: LLMs handle more research/complex q's, search handles more transactional/navigational searches. Seems more like a behavioral split and not direct replacement.

Fun fact: Bluesky is outperforming Twitter on conversions for my Kickstarter by 900%.

@boston.gov onboarded all their agencies to Bluesky to engage with Bostonians. Whether it's broken sidewalks, missing signage, or community issues, they want to hear from constituents. With little to no engagement on X, their actual interactions on bsky have increased. Engagement > follower count
