It's not so much the sinking of the sub, but the impact on the overall Russian military planning and effort. Novorossiysk is no longer 'safe'. They will either have to massively upgrade security and defence (costly in cash and manpower) or move/disperse the ships to other ports, causing chaos.

As the article says, they use a lot of energy to keep the greenhouses warm. I'm not sure that damaging the planet is really a legitimate "personal choice". Should a billionaire be allowed to fly a personal jet 5000 miles for lunch, because because he wants to?

What's wrong with eating food when it's in season? Why demand strawberries in December? And even with LED bulbs, there is still a hefty cost for those massive greenhouses and all the equipment.

Disabling a submarine is good, obviously. What is potentially more damaging is the impact on Russian morale and logistics. If they can blow up a submarine moored in dock, where is safe? Everywhere is a target. Putin will have to invest money and resources in increasing security everywhere.

All jolly good, I know, but, as a non-Londoner, and, given the general reputation that the Met has for wrongful arrests, violence, treating peaceful protesters as trrrrists, and general wrongdoing, I'm afraid that seeing a lot of cops on the street would NOT make me feel safer.
