The GOP have no idea how many preachers will line up to preach sermons that will be condemned by them....
GOP lawmaker files resolution to condemn Bishop Budde for her sermon. Ridiculous assault on religious liberty. Gov.'t shouldn't decide which sermons are acceptable or not. Really interesting discussion, @janjancl.bsky.social. I find myself drawn to your suggestion that Americans would do well to lose the book of Revelation as a self-referential text (in socio-political terms). At the same time, might it offer seeds of resistance against the very abuses you name?

And I’ll remind everyone that there are amazing Jews out there organizing for justice, working in coalitions with myriad non-Jewish communities on many issues that matter, etc. Not all of them are here (many more grassroots projects not even orgs) but it’s a place to start:

Many Christians who fabricate persecution for personal enrichment are the ones actually doing the persecuting--like Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton, who is suing Sunrise Community Church in Austin because of their ministry to unhoused folks.

There are many different "takes" on the results of election week in America. For now, I'll stay in my lane and simply observe that what one believes about God's desired future for this world, "ultimate or final things" (eschatology), directly shapes one's disposition and behavior (ethics).
