How are people who are disadvantaged in any way supposed to negotiate the health system? It's hostile design and it hurts.
I'm lucky. I can follow these things up sometimes. I can pay for gap fees at my gp so I can access comprehensive, accessible and queer friendly care.

No option to email if I didn't have a place in the waiting list.
If I was incapable of calling (as I often am) I simply wouldn't know.
This kind of issue makes accessible healthcare almost impossible for ND folks.

After over an hour on hold I was told that because my GP emailed the referral rather than faxed(!) it my referral hadn't even been processed and I wasn't even in the queue.
If I hadn't taken the time to call I would be waiting in forever land.
