That's so cool! I've never gotten that. (Wasn't allowed to give blood in the UK, because I'm from darkest -and most HIV-ridden - Africa. Ironically, here in Switzerland, I would be rejected if I'd spent time in the UK in the mad cow years.)

That's a fair point. I have also wondered about what that might mean for strength vs stress points. I do think though that there's room to mitigate that on the cross-weaving.

I'd definitely give it a go. It is very much like a neat little engine. Satisfying, and much more structured than knitting or similar.
