I would like it if it was meant to be wryly funny, but since the next line is about awe at the Creator (and given the rest of the book), it doesn't work for me.

"Kil'd by several accidents (46)" suggests a more slapstick 1632 London than I'd previously considered

Sadly I don't, but I'd also love to see it!

A lot of us made versions of the Illinois map, because it's a simple theory of "everyone gets a little Chicago"—CA gets more complicated

Lizza's best contribution in the end might be serving as an excellent example of the value of a good editor

There's also a wrinkle of primaries—if most of the white voters in an overall blue district are republicans, the Democratic primary may not actually be majority white.

Fun fact about the All-Chicago map is that tho it doesn't have any majority-minoritu districts, minority rep is the metric it does best on!

It would also likely get a fair number of minority reps, because the *Dem* voting pop in a lot of these districts is majority-minority, shaping primaries

That's an important point to highlight! That's one of many reasons this sort of map is never actually going to be floated in Illinois, except as a gerrymandering nerd joke

The only good thing about Kash Patel is that basically every picture of him I've ever seen fits that headline

It's notable that Gallego's vision of "fun" for women is a particular form of femininity and conventional attractiveness to men, rather than actually being fun or "rock and roll," or the other words he uses.

Women having fun don't count unless they are attractive to him.

His republican friend sent him a meme about how she is unattractive and doesn’t arouse men, which he thinks is true for all democratic women. Just really gross stuff from Senator Gallego all around

It's obviously not the point, but *this* is the colleague who sparked his rant about how dems are the not fun, not sex, drugs, and rock and roll party.
