In the 1973 Barbara Jordan was the first Black person elected to the Texas state senate since reconstruction. You think people told her she couldn't win? Absolutely. Did she listen? If everyone who didn't vote for a Black woman because they thought they couldn't win actually voted, they just might.

It's the first ad. I'm sure it's not the entire campaign. Maybe sit on that brilliant strategizing for a bit and let things play out. I think it's a compelling opening shot.
