Little known oddball facts that FILL my SONIC SEWER book: That this bootleg cornball disco version actually did better on the billboard charts in 77/78 than the ACTUAL Star Wars theme! They're supposed to be bumpin hips (as was the style in the disco era), but looks more like they BUMPIN' UGLIES!

When I was a teen I thought Joey Ramone's "pterodactyl club" shirt that he wore in the "Pet Semetary" music video was the coolest fuckin thing ever. I didn't know it was a dumpy lil' venue (now closed) in Charlotte North Carolina that they had gigged at, I just thought it was a cool shirt.

But it's not just the comic nerd in me that is loving this. The movie geek side of me is jazzed that Mamdani's mom is THE Mira Nair!? Director of Mississipi Masala (1991) with Denzel Washington, and Salam Bombay! (1988), and Monsoon Wedding (2001). The man is supported by female titans.
