“I grow old ... I grow old ...
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.
Shall I part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach?
I shall wear white flannel trousers,
and walk upon the beach.
I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.”

In the Autumn of 1979, I began my studies at the University of Arkansas where we were required to take a physical education course every semester. On a lark, I signed up for "Disco Dancing". Ring My Bell was our professor's song of choice for virtually every dance we learned. Good times.

Just ordered another 'Ultimate Fruit Wreath' yesterday as this box used to be Lily's bed for years and the kittens, of course, took it over. 🤷

My maternal grandmother sent me on a five week tour of Europe for my 19th birthday in 1980; my paternal grandmother made me promise to go eat at Harry’s Bar when we arrived in Venice as it was her favorite restaurant.
No one would go with me so it was my very first time dining alone In a restaurant.

That is why I will have only ever been able to watch “The Peanuts Movie” that one time. The ‘twist’ ending had me racked with sobs in the theater - fifty years of expectation unexpectedly released.

In thinking about this since yesterday, I’ve come to realize that if I could have any single restaurant meal again, it wouldn’t be from a favorite, New Orleans’ Bayona, or a famous, Venice’s Harry’s Bar, it would be a meal at Fedora’s.
At a time that I needed to be healed, F.D. was there for me.
