Here's a slide of US public opinion data I show students. The numbers show a growing partisan divide on opinions of Israel, with Republicans growing more supportive starting in the early 21st century, and Democrats growing more critical starting around 2014.

Spot on. If you are under 35, your real world experience of Israel is totally different from the plucky democracy beset from all sides those of us older folks grew up with. And many of us don't see Israel that way anymore. Assassinating Rabin was my tipping point.
