These fraught times call for a show with what is either an intentionally or unintentionally hilarious title, and which I will be talking about for the rest of the year

I'll never understand why they interview the fucking team owners first during these postgame celebrations.

If anyone (in the USA or Britain) wants to pick up a full 5.5-book series about a group of teenage friends banding together to save the world for only 99 cents, The Infinity Trials is on sale until Tuesday the 20th.
Okay, so I feel a bit weird doing this given the atmosphere out there, but I did something I've been putting off for 5 years and put all 5 Infinity Trials books (and a novella!) in a box set. It's my best work, and I love it dearly.

Okay, I didn't want to watch it initially, but One Battle After Another is pretty fuckin good.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, or Alice in chains.

(Maybe a controversial choice, but the heart wants what it wants.)

Man, this Counting Crows doc hits all the right beats.

Who knew me and Steve Kerr had musical tastes in common???

I grew up Catholic, and for the first 15+ years of my life I was hell-bent on entering the priesthood. And even now I still have a great appreciation for the purity of faith even though my own beliefs don't align at all.

With that in mind, Wake Up Dead Man really resonated with me. In so many ways.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

Hey @theringer.com.web.brid.gy, hows about you update your streaming wars section? Still stuck in 2024 over there!

I wonder if it bothers Tarrantino at all that he's basically a real-life grown-up version of Randal from Clerks?

Watching Dangerous Animals.

I like it, though I keep wavering between wishing the cast was more diverse, and realizing how problematic I'd probably find it if the cast WAS diverse.

Not sure if this says more about me, or society at large.

James Remar and Jason Clarke have remarkably similar voices.

This heaping pile of trash was filmed in the CT town I grew up in. Which is also, ironically enough, a pile of trash.

Women have made:

The best new rock (Warning)
The best new punk (Amyl & Sniffers)
The best new indie (Boygenius)
The best new death metal (Nervosa)
The best new fantasy sludge metal (Castle Rat)
The best new doom/punk hybrid (Die Spitz)

Women fuckin' rock.

Watched House of Dynamite last night.

For me the most terrifying part of that flick was imagining what this scenario would be like under THIS administration, and not the pretend administration where most everyone is intelligent and capable.

I'm...I'm...

I actually want this.

It would amuse me greatly.

I'm always tickled by reviews that state a book/movie/show "doesn't aspire to be anything more than an amusing diversion." As if all art is required to be profound to be appreciated.

News flash, it doesn't.

Two times in my life, I've heard someone who was former military say that "Aliens" was the movie that inspired them to be a soldier.

I've never been able to wrap my head around that.

Just watched Thunderbolts and Superman last night. 5-word review of each.

Thunderbolts - Likable bunch of depressed antiheroes

Superman - No subtlety, I like it

School shootings are horrific and sad and entirely preventable by a culture that just doesn't feel like doing so.

And this kind of maddening coverage is absolutely part of the problem. The fetishization is fucking disgusting.
