I got this email on July 3, just before the Orange King signed the big ugly bill into law. My understanding is that the final bill does NOT eliminate Federal income tax on Social Security earnings, despite DJT's claims to the contrary. A lying government can't be trusted, of course.

@kenmartin.bsky.social This is not how an opposition party is supposed to act. Why in f*ck’s sake are Senate Dems supporting a Trump corruption bill? I’ll support individual candidates with $ if I can, but DNC/DSCC/DCCC are not worthy of my trust.

A strong caution about this: April 20 is when DJT hears about whether martial law is needed. Expect agents provocateurs at these rallies. Violence could be the excuse DJT needs. Be vigilant. Don’t be provoked no matter what. Nonviolence on our part is a necessity.

The problem in a nutshell, brilliantly explained by Emily Flake in a New Yorker cartoon. This post of mine, by Flake's standard, is completely ineffective as a resistance strategy. She's right. I hope those huge Bernie/AOC rallies lead to serious organizing.

My local grocery store (southwest Ohio) this morning. I guess renaming the Gulf of Mexico has really helped lower consumer prices! And if we conquer Greenland -- a well-known egg-laying powerhouse -- we might get eggs for free! Make America great again? Maybe not so much.

This should in no way be construed as support for DOGE or Musk, but government inefficiency is a real thing. This book offers an interesting perspective on the problem and some ways to fix it.
