10% luck
20% skill
70% Rangers takes
I try to be measured and not overreact to one game, but having that poor of a performance is simply not something I saw coming. Last year, the infamous December beatdown by the Devils was the logical conclusion of a team that was self-immolating. This Rangers team, while unimpressive, wasn’t that.

Yeah, I’m pretty much there. You’ve gotta somehow nuke this entire roster. Need to make like 3-4 first round picks this summer.

Call up Perreault, fast track Spence, offer sheet someone.

Drury has changed half the roster and the coaching staff (multiple times!) and the Rangers still mismanage the puck horribly.

That whole final shift and penalty taken was the result of Borgen trying some ridiculous stretch pass instead of playing simple and keeping possession.

I’m sure we’ll hear about how this is their 10th game in 16 days or whatever but I’m sure Tampa has played a similar schedule.

My hot take is #NYR should start Garand today. I think awareness of a rookie making his first start will get the team to lock down defensively. This can’t be a wide open game like last time vs. TBL or the Rangers will get killed.

I’m truly never *that guy* with national broadcasts but this has truly been a 2 hour love letter to a completely unremarkable bruins team

Schneider’s low-key horrendous season continues.

Genuinely good two road periods from the Rangers, with a lot of shit (refereeing) going against them.

There’s no point in having an SOG counter on your broadcast scorebug if it’s going to be ridiculously inaccurate. Canes got a shorthanded rush that resulted in a shot attempt that went high and wide, and the counter updated from 11 to 14. Just don’t show it if that’s gonna be the result.

The Sheary hate has been ridiculously overblown. It’s all about roles and roster construction. Ultimately, this team’s problems are at the top of the roster, not the bottom.
Sheary vs. Raddysh. If #NYR could buy a goal when Sheary is on the ice, we wouldn't even be talking about nepotism. He's been the best of the Sheary/Raddysh/Parssinen trio by a country mile.

Brian Boyle is a great analyst. Basically called that goal after the Rangers hemmed STL in for two straight shifts, called for a quick up so STL couldn’t get a change, Rangers get the goal 10 seconds later.

C+ period against an awful opponent.
November 25, 2025 at 12:48 AM
Scary that Brett Berard skating in with speed and getting a wrist shot off with decent pace on it was an eye catching moment, but it illustrates how painfully slow the Rangers have become.
November 25, 2025 at 12:36 AM
Rangers seemingly unaware that the league has 6 full fucking seasons of video on the 3 offensive zone faceoff plays they run.

That’s coaching, and a mark against Sullivan. Gotta change that stuff up.
November 25, 2025 at 12:32 AM
I’ve been defiantly optimistic about the Rangers this season because their ability to control the game seemed to be real. The last 6 games or so have represented an abrupt return to Ranger hockey as we have known it for most of the last decade: getting absolutely caved in at 5v5.

Embarrassing stuff from the Rangers tonight.

The Knicks being the best team in the East from July-October of 2025 was awesome. Super fun times, truly.

It’s pretty much the whole ballgame. Hope the DNC is taking notes (they’re not)
Turns out charisma goes a long way in politics!

I think there’s a decent chance Colorado wins 60+ games this season. Absolute buzz saw of a team.

That said, the Rangers just don’t have enough dynamic players. They work hard, they defend, but there’s not enough skill, speed, or creativity on this roster to by much more than a fringe playoff team
November 21, 2025 at 5:20 AM
Not defending Miller, who has been brutal, but let’s unpack this clip:

1. This was at the end of a long shift (over 1 minute).
2. Neither the puck carrier nor the cutting Hutton are JT’s responsibility. He probably should cover the high slot filling in for Mika.
3. This needs to be a save.
November 19, 2025 at 2:03 PM
I’d flip the top two centers and see how that goes, but ultimately you’ve gotta break up Zibanejad and Miller.
November 19, 2025 at 4:49 AM
It’s an easy thing to say and you’ll never be second guessed when you say “just go north!” But you can’t beat NHL goaltending taking 40 foot wrist shots off the rush. Puck has to cross the slot line when you have seams.
November 19, 2025 at 3:38 AM
The Rangers are legitimately 80% faster on the road
