It was still the right time to move on. They needed to change the mix and culture. Look at how good zibanejad has been away from him (even playing C). Eventually they’ll fill the top six winger spots (Perreault, trade deadline, free agency next year). 5v5 Process is as good as it’s ever been.

For #NYR fans, this needs to be said:

None of Brodzinski, Sheary, Carrick, or Raddysh are blockers for the kids. They are insurance to avoid rushing the kids.

It's a transition year for the Rangers. It's far more important to ensure they are successful in the NHL instead of forcing it.

Hate to sound like a Michael Kay fan/booster here because I’m the furthest thing from, but I agree with his take that if they fire Boone, they’re just going to replace him with a stooge who operates the exact same way.

Hard to see it getting better. Gotta hope they win in spite of everything.
