Legal stuff. Wind farms. Biotech. Sometimes agriculture.
These are indeed THE RULES

(Though I would also note an Italian relative who opined that, whilst other toppings were available, anything other than a Margherita is essentially "pizza turistica" and he may look at you judgingly)
Chicken on pizza: too dry, weird
Beef on pizza: too rich, weird
Duck on pizza: perverse
Fish on pizza: repulsive
Almost any form of pork, ham or sausage types on pizza: fabulous
Vegetarian pizza: fabulous

I mostly don’t eat red meat, though occasionally I fall off the wagon for 🍕

I know it isn't 7am yet but the CEO of universities UK has made a real Horlicks of what should have been a simple argument #r4today

And another thing.

I'm not sure how you could even imagine attack ships on fire "off the shoulder of Orion" as if you were in the vicinity of Betelgeuse you wouldn't recognise "Orion" as a thing since the other stars would be in completely unrelated positions.

I can only presume that this person was also at Bridlington Spa last night where The Last Dinner Party put on a cracking show.

(On a Sunday night too!)
The Last Dinner Party are bloody brilliant live. Daughter loved it. I loved it. Perfect night. 😍
They are so so good. And very talented: If you get the chance go see them. They are superb. 👌🏽

My stomach and spine are those of Sekhmet, my buttocks are those of the Eye of Horus, my thighs and flanks are those of Nut, my legs are those of Ptah, my toes are those of living falcons. (BDQ)

I wish him luck in his quest for a male heir from his [checks notes] potentially 58 year old new wife.

I fear this chap didn't pay much attention to biology in school.

Any industry that has an escalator of "RPI plus X%" or sinilar should have it removed.

All it tells me is that the lawyers who negotiated it were gulled and didn't understand maths.
Well I never.
Not RPI+1%, not RPI, not even CPI, just 0%...
The Chancellor has announced that regulated rail fares will be frozen next year. A huge win for passengers and the economy, and one of our Budget asks!

They know.

20 years ago I went to Snows on the Green, Hammersmith twice, two years apart, and the waitress told me correctly where I'd sat and even what I'd eaten the first time.

Fun fact: at the table next to me was a young BBC guy berating his agent for better work. Glad it worked out, Vernon.
Took my sister to my favourite restaurant for dinner. Wanted to see if they'd make a comment at any point then or later that I was with a woman who wasn't my wife. Result: taking the mistress there next week.

Good grief. I just read the worthy replies to this post - full of bright Remainers for whom nothing but ideological purity and a full rejoining would do. All baffled why anyone would choose a halfway house.

Have these people never encountered... politics?
Oh, Customs Union again? Based on recent conversations I am pretty sure that any form of greater UK market access to the single market including this will require substantial financial contribution, alignment, and close to freedom of movement. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Lib Dems to force vote on creating new customs union with EU
Ed Davey’s party believes the move is the best way to ‘turbocharge’ economy, rather than tax rises

Such beauty to wake up to on the timeline. I am now old so can say things like "They just don't make cars like this any more". Impractical but I'd love a GS.

(And sorry, I know my generation are the ones that asked for safety and efficiency and all that stuff, and made all the cars lumpen boxes)

The fact that in America there is still a rump of wronguns who are still trying to advance explicitly nazi symbols and dogma (as opposed to the European wronguns who like the policies, yet those that adopt the insignia are largely thought of as weirdos) always surprises.

Terminology time, but surely it can't be a U-turn on a U-turn, as this is an O-turn, or just standing still?

I'd hate to be health secretary. Always having to roll up sleeves and tuck a tie in.

It's like a corruption of what is already an impractical uniform

This year I started ina new office and had exactly this. Eventualy people settled more on "Rob" which is fine...

...Until we just got a new guy, who is only "Rob".

I've got to change back haven't I?
