I suspected back in the '80s that a particular computer was toying with me, and that was back in the '80s.
"Oh, okay, if you're going to go get the IT guy, I WILL print it with the commands you just gave me. I will behave from now on, I promise."
Who knows what they can do now....

I didn't think Steve would be unemployed for long. The question for me was which network or service would hire him, and what his next mission would be.

Hopefully the pilots can still navigate the old-fashioned way.
Admittedly, some videos I've seen recently seems to say they're not teaching those skills to new pilots.

Yeah, they do. The driver of the tank stopped. They stood there for a while, then the tank driver climbed down, talked to the man for a bit, and then they walked off. The tank did stand there for a couple of hours.

When that happened when I was a kid - lots of rabbits in the neighborhood - the other thing that happened was a lot of rabbit stew. This was before we moved to the Detroit suburbs, and lived on several acres west of Flint.

My uncle, a farmer, used to have $5K in his pocket back in the 1960s, 'in case he wanted to buy a car or a tractor or some cows.' I've known lots of folks to carry lots of money quite casually over the years.

Do we actually manufacture anything here?
In 2004ish, when I lived in the Greater Detroit Area, they closed a plant in Ypsilanti, replacing it with one in Mexico. Our Mexican lawn crew quit and went to work at the new plant; guys that were fired in Ypsi took over. It was surreal.
