Final assembly usually is the process of mating major component assemblies and installing engines. Systems and landing gear may be fitted in the FAL or at MCA level (e.g. 787 nose). Mating the fuselage sections may be done at MCA level (737, 787 midbody) or in the FAL (777). IYKYK

I seem to remember an article in AIR International titled „The Illbegotten Albermarle“. 🙂

What you describe as initial assembly is final assembly. Mating fuselage sections may be called major component assembly if done upstream of the finals assembly line.

Did AI hallucinate the new term “initial assembly“ here? 🤔

As a German taxpayer, I‘d be happy if the German government would help out.

I am surprised that Orban didn‘t ask for Russian to be taught as the first foreign language.

Dem stehen unsere moralisch überhöhten Exportrichtlinien und unnötig komplexe multinationale Partnerschaften klar im Weg.

A $4 million range-limited aircraft with high operating cost due to a short battery life.
Amazing, who would have thought of that! /s

Nothing is symmetric on this Rareplane vacuform kit. A copy of the wing root profile serves as a template for getting the body join to shape and for aligning wing incidence. 🤓

•• Low base-drag nozzle (LBDN) ••
To fix the drag & thrust problems, for the B-58's J79-GE-5 custom nozzle was designed. It was still an ejector type, but now the expansion was mechanically guided, the secondary flow being helped by the divergent inner wall of the secondary nozzle.

Punched 6mm discs as a guide for getting the rear end of the nacelles to shape. The disc resembles to hole to be drilled for the exhaust stacks, which are two flattened tubes per side. I guess I‘ll make those from brass tubing.

Punched 10mm discs to get front end of the nacelles to circular shape and reduce edge radius. Ammo black slow dry super glue is used as a filler.

Unlikely. The way the airplane is point-designed for mild-boom supersonic flight renders it unsuitable for airline operations in the low-speed regime around take-off and landing.
Also, cruising at twice the speed does not cut travel time in half, and the X-59 does not fly at 2 x M0.85 to begin with.
