As non-US-citizens abroad don’t have 1st Amendment rights, he knows he can get at you only through US travel. Nonetheless, keep at it, please: you are helping Americans at home. You can travel to the US after he is gone from power… by which time few there will even admit they actually voted for him.

Foreign news sources (especially British and Canadian) leapt in US popularity in 2025. US social media critics are no doubt next on his target agenda. Foreign news and foreign social users may soon be about the only places Americans in the US will see real criticism and laughter directed at him.

4/7 Due to his five years in Europe, Jefferson had numerous French and Italian friends. He desired increased immigration from southern Europe. As VP, he fought Alien/Sedition Acts’ efforts from 1798-1801 to deport French refugees.

3/7 The letter is full of "theys." Yet any adult reading it gets that he doesn't really care about seeing her (English) husband (who was about Jefferson's age). He is obviously mostly interested only in seeing her again - although obviously he doesn’t feel he can write *that*…

2/7 He had fallen in love with her in Paris that summer and is writing there in the form of a "dialogue" between his "head" and his "heart." His "head" tells him that he wants "they" - meaning both her and her husband - to visit the US one day to sightsee with him…
