Excerpt from my upcoming work:

Tealing, butler to the Shergroves for many a year, entered Master Shergrove's room. Whereupon he found the boy stretched across his bed, a letter in one hand. The other was engaged in an activity that one ought not do, especially on a Sunday.

A reader recently described my poetry collection as “an honest and vulnerable exploration of identity.”

It makes me happy to read comments like this, and know that my work resonates with others.

When you write, you don’t write something once.
You write it five times, sometimes more.
Once for content.
Again for tone.
Again for your audience.
Again for proofreading.
Again for the edit that inevitably follows.
Then repeat.
Eventually you get there.

A local paper found my poetry “wanting.” Fair enough, poetry is subjective.

But a reader told me:
“Your poetry helped me begin to explore the me I kept hidden. I smile more today than I did two days ago.”

That’s what matters. Knowing my words have reached someone.

Big milestone today: I’m officially 1/3 of the way through my philosophy book!

What started as 52 essays turned into 72 chapters (because some ideas just couldn’t be left out).

Here’s to the next two-thirds.

“There are two paths of inquiry: the way of truth and the way of opinion.” — Parmenides

Writing this week’s essay on whether certainty is possible, or just an illusion.

What do you think? Can we ever know?

I made a mistake.

I planned to write 52 philosophy essays.
Turns out, I outlined 72.

A mistake? Maybe.
But also a sign this project is bigger than I imagined, and better for it.

I’m not cutting it down. I’m writing the book it wants to be.

Drafting this week’s chapter for my 52-essay philosophy projec. This one’s on Heraclitus and rivers you can’t step in twice.

What does change mean for identity, for who we are?

Who would you choose, and what would you ask?

Sneak peek from my next book: a year of weekly philosophy essays.

This one explores Anaximander’s Apeiron — perhaps the first ever “theory of everything.”

Ancient wisdom, modern reflection. More soon.

Poetry helped me ask the big questions.
Philosophy helped me shape some answers.

My next project is 52 short philsophhical esassy; a weekly journey through ancient and modern wisdom.
Stay tuned.
