I have no idea what I’m doing in this new role. I don’t know what most of these acronyms mean and I feel like almost no one seems to appreciate that I can’t just jump into a brand new and completely unfamiliar role as a fully functioning contributor. I don’t know this business.

Nobody ever planted a tree in this photo. It was a working gravel pit 30 years ago.
We need to get over our obsession with planting trees and let nature do the job. The results are just SO much better.

I sometimes wonder what would happen if I just did everything in secret. I didn’t tell many people when I got a new car or a new job. What if I didn’t tell them I moved? Or met someone? Just, “surprise, I’m getting married next month!”

I’m irritated to find myself back at work after a long weekend so it’s time to plan a weekend trip.
I think this will be a solo trip, two nights between Christmas and New Years. Maybe it’s time to explore a new small town?
