I just donated 10 days' worth of grocery bills to CARE FOR REAL. They are a wonderful, tightly-run organization. PLEASE consider helping out. I cannot believe that Justice Jackson betrayed our most vulnerable.

Once again, Golem Girl is not out of print. We are having a problem with Ingram distributing it. If you or your bookstore wants to order it, you can get it directly from Random House.

Please pass on this information if you are able. This is a frustrating situation that I cannot seem to fix.

This is your occasional reminder that Rose O'Neill, creator of the Kewpies, first published female cartoonist in the United States, and among the first cartoonists to build a merchandising empire on their work, turned out some absolutely baller, romantic-feeling size-difference monster art.

Honored to be part of this article on the strange life of the Mütter Museum. Thanks to Rachel Monroe for ending the story with me.

A Medical-History Museum Contends with Its Collection of Human Remains
Supporters saw the Mütter’s preserved fetuses, skulls, and “Soap Lady” as a celebration of human difference. New management saw an ethical and a political minefield.

I am a member of both NPR & PBS. Yesterday saw the decimation of their funding by our government. What legitimate government wants its people to be stupid & uninformed. That is not governing. That is abuse in the service of creating thralls. Become a member of public media as quickly as you can.

Remembering Chevalière d'Éon for Pride. A transgender woman in the 1700s who was also a spy and who turned double agent, extorted an entire monarchy to get her gender marker changed, and lived her life as a woman in a time when such was thought impossible.

We have always been here.
