Still thinking about parts of this novel today, especially the expanse of sounds throughout the work, and how those sounds, which are nonverbal in nature, communicate thoughts and feelings.

If you’ve never seen this series by Drumeo, it’s great. They make drummers listen to a drumless version of a song they’ve never heard before and let them come up with their own drum part for it. Utterly fascinating to see the creative process unfold. (Personally, I like Aric’s take better.)

Having this again for dinner later tonight and I’m so goddamn excited.
